I have made another baby sweater, have started Ariann again out of cotton fleece and am sewing photo bags for my mom. I made her the yellow bag as a demo and I swear my mom could sell you anything. She was talking to two bikers in the parking lot of Starbucks where we met while I was leaving. I had to call her later and laugh at her.
I love Ravelry. I needed 3 more skeins of Cotton fleece and sure enough, there it was in someones stash. 3 days later it is in mine, and for a song. My daughter saw Twilight the movie, Bella wears these mittens she says, I want some,can you whip them up. Sure, I say. Well, after three starts, because she picked Caron simply soft, A really flimsy yarn, I decided I had to double the yarn. First mitt, okay. Second one. RRRGGGHHH! I can not for the life of me remember how to do a mitten on the right side. I have riippppeedd it out 3 times. Today, I will get it. They need to be done, today, TODAY, I have other knitting to do. I found a pattern, but it just didn't turn out right. So I just looked at the ones that I had and went from there. I only needed one, this year, but while I was making it my hubby said that I might as well make one extra for next year.
So, today, will be the day to make my apple pie, stuffings, banana and pumpkin bread. Also, chex mix and Spiced Nuts. I will also, be knitting for Christmas.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I know that I will be very thankful. I was trying to put these pics in the other post, but hey more posts more pics. Everybodys happy. So, here is Aruba and yes it was beautiful. We stayed at the Renaissance Marina hotel and had an all inclusive package. We ate dinner at a delicious steak house called L G Smiths and I had a manicure and pedicure. And of course breakfast and lunch was included. It was perfect. We are already talking about going back.
And now that I am back and it is November- ugh, sigh already It is time to start my Christmas Knitting. I will be making my husband an afghan from lionbrand. Already have the yarn, um since last year. I ran out time...A shrug for daughter # 1, the pirate hat from Hello Yarn and leg warmers for daughter #3 and a scarf and gloves for daughter #2. And did I say it is November already. Yikes! I work my best under pressure. LOL I will keep projects posted. It is supposed to be 65 today- In Vermont. Time to rake the leaves.
Oh, lets talk about this for a minute. Raking the leaves. Every year people all over my neighbor hood rake their leaves up when the trees are still full of leaves. I sit there and marval at this extreme waste of time. Because, I am not going to rake mine or mulch mine-with the lawn mower- I hate to rake- until they are all down. I simply do not see the point of doing it more than once. Well, that was until last week when we got 3 inches of snow. Hmm should have raked. Did I say it will be 65 today? Ha, perfect mulching weather! So out will come my lawnmower for its last hurrah of the season. Yay, Fall!

Kiera's Sweater

So, yes there has been knitting. Seriously, I am not an organized person, at all. Ask anyone who knows me. Nope, no way, not Ann. But, after weeks of searching for a certain sized needle, and playing on ravelry...I came across this. It is from the Bass Pro Shop. It is called a Worm Binder. It is called Heaven. Yes, I was having an orgasmic time organizing all of my knitting and crochet goodies. Some needles did not make it into the bag. Such as my wooden circulars-yuk. And my Boye needlemasters they have their own case. Well, so do the Denise needles but I use these. And I HATE looking for all of the tips. So there you have it. $16.00 delivered to my door with extra pages to boot. I never realized that had so many needles of the same size. I may have to sell some just to go to Rhinebeck with Norma! The hotel will be most of the expense...mmm stash sale. Yeah, sure, you all have the same idea.
Norma really looks good in those earrings! I will have to whip her up a special pair just for the occasion. LOL. I never need an occasion to make earrings.
Off to eat, not anything nearly as good as Norma, but hey, not everyone has a green ass, I mean green thumb! We went to a small place in Burlington next to her favorite gardening supply store. It was very good. I, of course, warned her to expect a new pair of earrings. Funny, she always has on the right color to match whatever I make her!
she laughed and said she did not have enough days in the week to wear all of her earrings. Ha Ha Ha
Well, Norma, Here are a few of mine. Actually, alot of them. I got my ears pierced for my 16th birthday. We were not allowed to have them before then. I got them done at the doctors office with a piece of black string. I had to pull them thru every couple of days. Gross. I remember picking out my first earrings. Gold hoops. THey were thick enough like posts so I could get them. My mom cut the strings and went to put the earring in. I passed out on the bathroom floor. Mom got a big kick out of it. She also said if you left the house without earrings it was like leaving without underwear on!
I am making a Knitting Pure and simple pullover for a toddler(friend of mine's grandson). I should have it done in plenty of time for his birthday, August 17th. Picture will follow. Hopefully with my new Namaste Peacock Laguna! I can not wait until it gets here!!!

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my moms birthday. I love it. She is intelligent, daring and fun to be around. I am so glad she has started traveling over the last 15 years or so. She loves it. I always said she would have been a great stewardess! Go on and wish her a Happy Birthday. She is right out straight all day tomorrow. I had the pleasure of her company today. As usual, it was awesome. I wish we could see each other more often.
Have a great day, Norma.
No knitting, oh, wait. I am knitting a market bag for a friend who is getting married next week and going to Portugal. I figured it was a perfect non-gift. I gave up on Mr. Greenjeans and was all the way to the armpits on my new Ariann. But, alas, it was too small. So, I put it aside. I went to Kyarns the other day and caved. I ordered an Olive Malibu Namaste bag. I needed it like a hole in the head, but hey.You know. I know you do. It should be here by next Tuesday or Wednesday, just in time for my mini vacation to Mohegan Sun, Ocean Beach, Ron White, and our friends wedding. I will have to pretend it is the carribean. Yeah right. The water won;t even be CLOSE to the same color.
I have been making earrings again. I made my daughter a pair for her 15th birthday, July 4th, She loved them. Norma is wearing hers today. If you are lucky she will post a pic. I did not have time to snap one. She would kill me if I posted the pic of her in them. LOL Norma!
Have a great weekend.

The Bitchy Yarn Shop Owner!

I hate the woman! Every time I go there-she is a bitch-every time. I have walked in and she has looked over to see me and not even said Hello.And if you live in the Essex area, you KNOW who I am talking about. Not the lovely gals over at Kyarns-THEY are sweethearts. No I mean YOU-Northeast Fiber Arts!
Today I went in to EXCHANGE a pair of Inox express I had purchased last week from HER. They sucked. They had gouges in them and looked and felt rough.She said she did not even remember me-Twice-she said it twice. The other pair I got at the same time did not. I did not keep my reciept because all needle sales are final. Well, people I own my won business and I know that if you have a defective item you CAN return it. So I did. What a F___ing bitch. She asked me if I had used them for a week and decided to return them. No you ass, they suck and I want another pair of the SAME needles. After finally offering me the ability to exchange them she says snottily (new word?) "that she will check them out first!"-Ha imagine her surprise when they all suck.Ha again. So she says that I can either chose one of these or wait for a new shipment. No way I grab a pair and walk out. I WILL NEVER< EVER EVER GO INTO HER SHOP AGAIN... I will order it online- I will surf Ebay- even If I have to pay more. I love her! I made her a pair of yarn ball earrings and they served as a name tag at the NH wool festival. How cute!
My family and I went to Connecticut to celebrate my Grandmothers 90th birthday this past weekend. It was great. All of us were there, except my oldest:(. Oh well. We got great pics and had a wonderful time. I brought my newest attempt at knitting-Mr.Greenjeans- classic flash, lagoon, but did not knit at all. I had started a Blue Sky Eyelet cardi, But I just don't like how "heavy" it is. Especially for a summer sweater. Ariann has spoiled me. I am going to make another one. Just can't decide what color!
I have also started a Flower Basket shawl and hope to be done with it by friday. Size 10 needles and Frog tree alpaca super fast. Not the ones from Walmart. Tried Joanns and 7.50 later 4 buttons. But they were perfect. I haven't exercised in a week. I went to Las Vegas for my 21st anniversary. My oldest moved out, my mother in law died and the trip was just the worst ever. So, I can not knit. I showed my mother in law the sweater before I left and she touched it and smiled that I had done such a good job. She said so. She had just survived throat cancer surgery, so she could barely talk. She smiled and wrote alot. She meant more to me in the last 4 weeks of her life than she ever had in the 20 years I knew her. I spent 2 complete days with her after her surgery because she was afraid to die. She lit up every time I walked into the room. I saw her almost every day. I did her nails, I made her a shawl. I rubbed her legs so she would sleep. I hugged her and held her hand. As did my husband. He is a mess. He spent every day with her 4 and 5 hours at a time.Sometimes more.
We were assured she was fine and cancer would not kill her. We went on our vacation and she died while we were away. We found out from my daughter, who had to hear sympathy 2 days later when it was published in the paper! Cancer did not kill her ...she choked to death in front of 3 people who took her home to die. 3 people who did nothing to save her at all. A horrible way to die. Sorry if this is morbid, but I need to vent.

Thank you.
Ann

Ariann!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R_qtHM8MkPI/AAAAAAAAAGs/7_9mcsjg49w/s400/ariann.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186648260114944242" />

Here she is!It is made out of Cotton Ease-Taupe! And, I love it. Love it like no other sweater. I went to wally world today and got the perfect buttons for $3.59. This sweater almost saw the frog pond.But good sense told me to walk away. I did-for 4 months. I ripped back about 4 inches and started the sleeve decreases again. And just like Rachael, I did not do the "at the same time" neck decreases. But it is perfect. I have some popsicle blue that I have already started winding for my next one.
This one was supposed to be 3/4 sleeve. Yes, and I'm cheap, Just drop me a comment. I take requests. Reasonable ones.
LOL:)
Oh, and this lovely lady is my mom. Ruth. She is the best! Silly just like me! I get it from her, no doubt about it.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R9RyEiOsJgI/AAAAAAAAAF8/mtW9en9FVjE/s320/P1030198.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5175887293989004802" />
I believe we are peas in a pod. I love her new scarf. May have to find some Noro and make my own. I laughed when I saw she had started a new one, after all it is March. But hey after todays weather....She may be on to something! I have not been doing any knitting. We had some extra shelving at the warehouse and I have decided it would be perfect for my stash closet. SO I am going to reoranize before I start anything new.

Whoopie Pies, Socks and Earrings- Corrections to recipe!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R8wdaNhLnZI/AAAAAAAAAE8/yNlVQxhu-2c/s320/ann1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173542408084495762" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R8wdathLnaI/AAAAAAAAAFE/AP9iTg3Rvns/s320/ann2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173542416674430370" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R8wdathLnbI/AAAAAAAAAFM/V3dPurckzKE/s320/ann3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173542416674430386" />
Thanks to a comment from Kristina, I have made Whoopie Pies. She has a relative who makes these and will not share it. Seriously folks, life is too short not to share something as simple as a recipe.
So here it is:

Whoopie Pies

2 c. sugar
3/4 c. Shortening
2 eggs
Beat together and add:
2 C. milk
2tsp. Vanilla
12 T. Cocoa
4 1/4 C flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
pinch salt.
Mix together well.
Drop by rounded tablespoons or teaspoons on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for about 6-10 minutes. They will spring back when done. Cool on rack

Frosting ( the best part)

1 1/2 C. each shortening and marshmallow fluff
1 T. milk
1 1/2 C. confectionary sugar.
2 tsp. vanilla
Makes about 2 dozen huge pies!

Enjoy!
Okay so I made a pair of earrings to wear today. They are okay! Not my best!
And the sock -it SUCKS! the foot is fabulous. The ankle and up is too loose. AAGGH.
Thanks to the fabulous Norma, you all may be coming for a visit. Hello! Nice to meecha.
By the way, if you ever get to chat with Norma in person, she is the real deal-what you read is what you get. She is so animated. I love her. I met her in person at the local yarn shop and squeeled when I saw her. Hugged her and all! She really must have thought I was a whacko- I really liked the tattoo idea. LOL.
My daughter just turned us on to Jeff Dunham. Go on over and check him out...I keel you!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uwOL4rB-go
P.S. I have no idea how to insert a freakin link. It won't work!

Central Park Hoodless!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R8qpZthLnUI/AAAAAAAAAEU/kgtMaZ_FzC8/s320/P1030200.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173133381169028418" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R8qpadhLnVI/AAAAAAAAAEc/kTXD99UcjPs/s320/sweater1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173133394053930322" />
Okay, let's get one thing straight, I loved my CPH. But, I wasn't loving the hood. It laid kind of funny and I could feel it like a hunchback in my coat. So, I bit the bullet. I was going to cut the hood off, but Barb and Kaylen at Kyarns cringed and said I knew hot to fix it. UGH. So, yes I ripped off the button band and ripped off the hood. I kept the same number of stitches and did the same ribbing as the sleeves and the bottom. Then I picked up the button band stitches on the new collar too. & buttons later and about 6 inches of collar, I have a CPH that I LOVE. It was so nice to finish it yesterday because it was COLD.
I have been working on a pair of socks for me and a simple wrap for a friend. While I was down visiting my dad, I stopped by a yarn shop in Windsor CT and purchased 2 patterns and was gifted a Rowan book, at least I think it was. Oh well. I have the yarn for everything I bought. Just waiting to finish the projects at hand.
I have been making earrings thanks to my mom! She has started her own business of jewelry making and I remembered how much fun it was. So about $100 later, I am making my own. For myself and for others. I love to make earrings for others!
So I am barefoot and going back to my warm chair to finish me a pair of socks.
Keep warm.

For Norma!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R7msnrlvqaI/AAAAAAAAAEM/OQQNTNptKQM/s320/img092.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168351845100267938" />
After reading Normas post today I decided to try to cheer her up! And show-scare some of you with my latest creation. It is the wavy wimple made with some acrylic yarn. It is not for me but a gift. I had to try it on to make my kids pee themselves! It worked. I even sent it to my husband, who is on a business trip. I am sure it made him sooo hot-NOT.
Just knitting socks, now. But that is easy and mindless, and usually no frogging!Or at least I hope. I am dying for some warmer vacation weather but....maybe not until April vacation. She is taking a semester off.
Kelley is out and doing great. She is back home and has not had much luck on the job front. She is 20.
Samantha was the only one home and was loving it. Not so much anymore.
I AM knitting. I picked up my Cece and tried to finish it. No vacation this year due to the fact that last years was such a bomb.
When I went to pick up Carrie in Texas I scored my new summer bag at Dooney & Bourke. Only $65. And I arrived at the Austin airport with 6 bags to check 20 minutes before our flight was to leave! Thank god for a great car rental employee and the woman who checked our bags. I leave you with a pic of the scored bag.
Have a great week!
Ann
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/R50bJOy42kI/AAAAAAAAAEE/PjElLVjajvI/s320/dooney.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5160310593440766530" />

Central Park Hoodie Finished!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/Rz96qY9YLeI/AAAAAAAAAD0/ITMlyooCCPI/s400/P1030078.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133956968898637282" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/Rz96rI9YLfI/AAAAAAAAAD8/oQ-La5T1gdE/s400/P1030079.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133956981783539186" />
Yes, that is right! I am craving socks.I just purchased the IK holiday issue, It has a few cute ankle socks-stocking stuffers?
So off to make stuffing, banana bread and pumkin bread for the Holidays.
Happy weekend!
Ann :)

Best damn breakfast ever!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/Rz2GrY9YLdI/AAAAAAAAADs/XkEDIy-6ln0/s400/P1030009.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133407230264618450" />
This my friends is a home made Devil Dog. Some of you may know it as a Whoopie Pie. Ihave been making theses since I was 9. A neighbor shared the recipe and they have been a hit. I was craving them the other day and caved. Daughter #1 ate 6 the first day. The next morning I awoke to find 4. I had 2 for breakfast. Nope, not losing any weight here. BUt hey, I live in Vermont. We have to pack on the pounds for the winter.
On to the turkey.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/Rz2GU49YLcI/AAAAAAAAADk/SafbzIcb0tE/s400/P1030011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133406843717561794" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/Rz2F7o9YLbI/AAAAAAAAADc/s9VlT6sknLE/s400/P1030010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133406409925864882" />
This little guy was made about 13 years ago. I have 5 of them. My old house got flooded, yes in Vermont, (by a faulty toilet) and I lost all of my patterns in my sewing room. So I am asking, alright begging. DOes anyone have this pattern? I think it came from a Craft Basket magazine. My mother in law gave it to me years ago. I am entertaining for Thanksgiving and need to whip up 4 more. LOL.
So, please. fellow knitters, if you have seen this little fellow, share?!

On to the CPH! I cast on what I thought looked like an appropriate amount of stitches for the ribbing. Nope I finished it and it was way too tight. So I rrriiipppeed the sucker out and cast on 304 stitches just like the damn pattern says. I am on row 3. It will be done today. Pics tomorrow.
It is snowing!!! I hate snow, but I love the first snowfall. Ali loves the yarn! The pics are not cooperating. Its friday. You'll live!
About the dog!
Daughter #1 bought me this beautiful knitting bag 3-4 years ago in Boston. It was black. Had a little pocket for tape measure, etc. Well I left it out once and the dog ripped the pocket apart to get a candy wrapper. Yes, just the wrapper! Yesterday, DH called to tell me he was sorry! Sorry, about what? The damn dog had done it again. Only this time he ripped the entire bag apart. Guess what was inside? Yes, The CPH!!!!!! I almost died.It is fine. the bag,,,is not. He killed it. So, sigh, I will have to get a new one....what a bummer. No, really it is, because I loved it.
I got the fluff, I got the milk. I forgot the cocoa powder. No devil dogs for me. But there will be some this weekend. I have a wicked sweet tooth. We all do! So my goal for this weekend is to finish the sleeves of the dreaded CPH and find a pattern for some mitts. Maybe get a new winter coat as well. I hate winter. I am a beach person. I love the warm weather the sun on my face. Yeah, I am dreaming. SHoot me! I leave you with a silly pic from my birthday last year. It is my little sister, myself, Daughters #2, 3 and my neice. Have a great day!
Ann<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/RzRKr1O5jnI/AAAAAAAAADE/poEPJoB2kLI/s320/P1010011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130807992366239346" />

Sleeves

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/RzMK81O5jlI/AAAAAAAAAC0/mhyQuk0hjUg/s400/P1010008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130456440703127122" />
I finished the hood of the dreaded Central Park Hoodie! YAY! Instead of picking up the 300 something stitches for the ribbing, I opted for finishing the sleeves. I am really amazed I have not finished this sweater before. The sleeves were knit to within 3 inches of the armholes! I must have had something else to work on. Yeah, thats it....I just went to Knitty to learn how to mattress stitch. UHG, looks like fun, not.
Have you seen Normas mittens? They are so awesome. I googled and finally found a pattern for mittens in sock weight yarn. Broad Streets on Knitty look pretty good. I have some great yarn someone sent me for my knit mit swap kit last year. I was going to make some of those fancy norwegian mittens, but, these look easier! Besides, those mittens look great on really beautiful grey haired norwegian woman and kids. They would make me look like a clown. LOL, still, I may make a pair some day.
Another stupid toy recall! We own a few toy stores, and at this time of year, no one needs to be worried that their kid might die from their gift. Date rape drug found on a toy!!! Thank god we did not get this item, but how many more things will they find-hopefully before Christmas.
I know I said that I would post pics this weekend. But I am feeling generous.
So here are my CPH sleeves. Oh, and ALI. This is Daughter #1's second orphan kitty that she has generously donated to my house. He is very affectionate and DH loves him dearly.
I will leave you with my great pics and say "Good day!"
Ann :)

Novemburrrrr!

Well, as I said, I joined a few swaps at swapbot. I dropped one today. I am not a huge fan of a magic ball swap. A bunch of silly things wrapped in a ball of yarn. But the sock yarn swap, aaahh, that is something else. I joined, I recieived, and I am sending. I recieved a beautiful sock bag filled with candy. stitch markers and a skein of fuschia purpley smooshy sock yarn. YUMMY! Christine from girl interupted sent it to me. I will post pics on Saturday. Thanks Christine!
Knitting:
The dreaded cph- the hood will be done today and the 300 something ribbing stitches will be cast on. UGH. I will be so happy to finish this. It is getting hard because DH aka the channel master, gets up at 3:45 am and goes to bed at 8. So knitting time is scarce unless I have made dinner ahead of time. Last night it was lasagne, Yummy! so today there will be leftovers of mondays chicken francais or lasagne or cereal! there will be knitting, damn it!
I finished a sock bag for my swappee. I am going to the PO today to find out what shipping to London is.
Christmas people, it is too close. I have to make a beret for my mom. She loved the one I made last year-one in black please. I have to remember where I got the pattern online! Oh yeah the eskimo mitten site! Here it is. http://www.kraemeryarns.com/patterns/pdfs/tamtopper.pdf
I have to write these things down when I remember them- ya know I am getting old! Oh so my dad, the sweater recipient of last year- too big! will be getting socks. This will be a challenge since he is a big man. I am not sure that I have seen a sock pattern for big men. so I will have to surf for that as well. Daughter #1 mow-mulched the front lawn for me this weekend. I still have to do the back yard or the doggie dump as I call it. I even have special sneakers that do not come in the house-shit shoes! THey stay in the garage and I have to shake the spiders out of them every time I mow..
Well, I have to go to work and it looks too cold to go!!! I am going to pick up some things at work and bring them home so that I can work from home today. I am tired of being cooped up in a warehouse all day!!!
Oh and I feel like a devil dog. You know, the kind you see in the convenience store. THey are huge saucers filled with marshmallow goodness. I have a recipe. Will have to make some. Pics this weekend. I hate a post without pics!
Ann- it's only wednesday! Yup, I am 7/8 done with my stupid choice of a 3/4 sleeved Ariann (great pattern) knit with cottonease. 3/4 was stupid as I live in Vermont. It is freakin cold and I just don't love it. So, I have riiipppped back my blocked fronts and back of the neglected CPH and am determined to have it finished by thanksgiving. The sleeves are almost done.I had to rip back to the start of the sleeves as I must have been thinking I was knitting a sweater for my dad-the armholes were HUGE. So Norma, here is my challenge-Can you get your CPH done in time for THanksgiving or beat me? She is a wicked fast knitter, that Norma.
The socks from the knit calendar-too small. It just wasn't the summer to knit for me at all.
I have actually joined a few swaps at swapbot. A sock swap my partner is from London. Ooh, I have never shipped to London before. I think the other was the Christmas ball wrap up. My oldest is home! cross all of your fingers and wish her luck. Daughter #2 is in Texas, at Baylor, and HATES it. She wants to come home. Daughter #3 was a police officer for halloween. I would include a pic but, but oh my, you would never believe that she was only 14.
SO, I will say ta ta and leave you with the thought of fall in Vermont. Leaves, people, more leaves than you can possibly imagine.Me, I don't rake, I wait for them to all fall off, then mow, mulch and smile! Then it will be time to hang the Christmas lights!
Off to Costcos-on a saturday!!!
Smile and knit plenty!
Ann

Help!

Can anyone HELP? I am more than half way done with my Barely there socks from the 2007 Knitting a day Pattern calendar and the dog ate the pattern...........okay, so stop laughing. The damn dog eats any and everything. I have never done the flap heel and I can not remember how many sts to cast on or how to do the flap heel thing. I can finish and do the toes but that is all. So if anyone has the pattern would you help a knitter in need. I wanted to take them to TEXAS with me on sunday, but I may have to start a new pair. I am such a putz!!!!!
Okay, so whats with the photos. Well, try to share your cameras, 3 of them, and the photo cards and the photo reader with your 2 girls-no it's not priceless it's a pain in the ass! They lost my 1 GB card and that is MY CARD!!! It has all of my knit kits, sp kits knitting, you get it- it's mine, MINE MINE MINE!!!!
Now I know why my mother would get so mad when her stuff was missing. Those tagged need to write on their blogs 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog.

seven random facts:

1. I am the oldest of 5 children. Both my mom and dads familys had 5 children, as does my husbands-we do not!

2. Irene, my grandmothers sister taught me to knit when I was 5.

3. All 3 of my daughters can knit and sew!

4. I am a sun worshipper and would love to live on the water.

5. I love to read, but rarely find the time. Books on tape have filled the void

6. I bake the best apple pie.

7. I have broken my nose or had it broken 4 times!
Thanks Leslie, I have never done one of these. I don't have 7 people to send this to, so sadly it will end here.

I have been knitting. I found Bob Marley socks and ripped back the ones I was knitting. I am on the heel flap. But alas, that is all.
We finished our last store inventory yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I may still be able to use my eyes again. I promise pics at next post,. I am going to break out the new camera and give here a try. Hopefully with at least one sock to show, or a started Cece.
The baby kitty has decided to raid my "Friends chair" and daily she steals yarn out of it to take upstairs. Friends chair- the ones Joey and Chandler got. the lazy boys with the built in coolers and massagers. Yep, we have 2 of them-in black also! Only 1 came to the new house! It has deep pockets in the side and I put my yarn in them. The kitty squishes inside and pulls out partial balls or even something I am working on and drags them upstairs! It is cute, but what a mess.

Favorite place to knit!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/RkmRza4FTdI/AAAAAAAAACU/tPNNi03CKGc/s320/beach.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5064739568528739794" />
So as you can see, I am a beach girl. I wish.Natives always stop and ask what I am making. They crochet hats while they walk on the beach. I will have to get a photo next time we visit!
My husband gambles all day and I sit by the pool and knit while I listen to music or a book. It is paradise. Our 20th Anniversary was April 22nd. I was on a plane coming back from Baylor and Hubby was home with the youngest.
I got him this:
It is the best expresso machine ever.He just took it out of the box. It was TOO EXPENSIVE! He bought me a beautiful diamond necklace and earrings-not my taste, and he did not pick them out. SO I exchanged them and get 2 pairs of earrings and enough credit to more than pay for the machine. Happy man and new earrings. No knitting, but I did buy a magazine with 2 patterns that I hope to make. That counts, right?
Any way, I got a new camera, but after reading all the reviews I am taking it back and exchanging it for a LUmix DMC-TZ3 check it out at Best Buy. It is awesome! I have a Lumix already but it is an SLR and I don't seem to use it very often because of the bulkyness, It takes great pictures, but!
So no pictures of the green Vermont. just check out Norma and her great pictures.
Inventory tomorrow for store 1. 2 more to go. Then the warehouse, and maybe my life will be back....
Thanks for stopping by.
Ann

On a roll!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/RjPRd64FTbI/AAAAAAAAACE/tyYpHZqX4rI/s320/seymour.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5058617118418095538" />
Okay 3 posts in one day people, Can you feel the love? This is the King of our house-Seymour. He is the second pet we have had as a family and the oldest. Our first kitty Talouse died when he was 1, so we got a new kitty right away, and here he is. He is the most loveable big baby.
I have a new SP10 partner. She likes to knit socks and has no color preference. What a dream! I have been so busy at work that I have not even been able to keep up on reading blogs! I am so sorry!!! I miss you, Norma, Gramknits, Iheartknitting, Scoutswag, etc, LOL I could go on forever. My hubby is watching the Redsox/Yankee game. Can you hear him from where you are?
I have decided to go up and dig out the Popicle sweater. I have really got to finish something. I really WANT a CeCe though! Not need, just HAVE TO HAVE............you know you know what I mean! I am going to start making up my SP10 package tomorrow so I don't get behind. I will have pics next week when I get my camera cards back from work. I left them there in my bag! I was so excited to show you all of my swap kits and sp box that I have received.
Okay thanks for letting me blog you to death. More entertainment to follow.
Hug Hug!

Sp Contest!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/RjPNt64FTaI/AAAAAAAAAB8/iqoOx4qC-AE/s320/cotton.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5058612995249491362" />
So we are to blog about our oldest yarn in the stash. I think this may be it. It was supposed to be Popsicle blue. I ordered it from Joanns online and told them Popsicle Blue, someone must be color blind. It is Pistachio, well damn it starts with a P.I have started a sweater with the popsicle blue, almost done in fact, but just cannot finish it. It was one that Wendy from Knit and Tonic designed. I think it was Something Red. Oh well. I am trying to do a CHicknits Cece, but a swap buddy only sent me 2 skeins of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Caramel. It is discontinued and I need 2 more. So maybe I will have to dive deeper into my stash or just finish the popsicle sweater. He and I are one year apart. I am the oldest. I usually call him every year and play a joke. One year I called -as a bill collector, and told him we did not receive his credit card payment and I was going to take his house. He was so mad, he got his checkbook out and told me when and for how much he made his damn payment. It was hysterical! I have not called him yet-can;t think of anything sneaky!
I am going to Waco in 3 weeks to check out Daughter #2s college-Baylor! She is really excited that she got accepted. It was her first choice school.
SP10- I got my kit from my SP10. She made me a pink bunny washcloth, sent a bar of homemade soap, notebook, giftcards, 2 skiens of cotton fleece, and an older sweater knitting book. A lovely package!!!
I am sending out my SP10 box tomorrow. I have to get one more thing for it. I will take photos later.
Daughter #3 goes to Washington DC on Weds for a class trip of 4 days. She is so excited to go on her first real vacation without the family---she is such an old lady!!!!
Still knitting the socks, slowly. Made one for my sock blocker keychain. It is too cute!
Have a fun day!

Favorite Knitting tool

Okay, it may not be a tool, but is has fast become my new obsession. Listening to audiobooks while I knit. I can knit and be in a whole other world-even when I am not on vacation! LOL. Seriously, I love it. If I am not listening to a book, then I am listening to music, not whining or screaming. It's wonderful! I have started a pair of socks, but after seeing many finished and beautiful Central Park Hoodies on Knit the CPH with us blog, I have been feeling guilty. But, with the start of our new warehouse and what I call my demotion, from doing only the books for our business,to now setting upthe warehouse, distributing and receiving inventory, still trying to do the books and keeping my house clean- I don't seem to have any energy to knit! Maybe this weekend. I have to start thinking about SP10. AAAGGGHHH!!!!and of course the age old, timeless request that every mother loves to hear--- "What's for dinner?"
Then when you tell them or make it, you hear, can I have cereal?
Why bother, seriously, why? I wish I could just make it and they wuold be grateful!
Okay, enough bitching, after all, it is FRIDAY!
Have a great weekend. Hopefully, the snow will all go away. I keep looking for Meisha-the geisha girl, to come running down the stairs every morning with me:(

Thank you!

Many thanks to all of you who have written to me on Meisha, our baby girl Rhodesian Ridgeback. She died within 5 days of being sick. Hum, food poisoning-not according to Iams. Well, she and Bubba, the big bad Rhodesian of the house, have been eating Iams Weight management dry food for little over 6 months. They used to eat Science Diet. Over the last 6 months Meisha has lost her appetite, but I just figured she was being finicky. She was a little high strung ( she was rescued from a family that beat her, when she was 1 !/2)She lost some of her fur last summer and the vet did not know what caused it. I have been doing research people...aflatoxocis. Causes liver disease, jaundice, vomiting and there was a problem with Iams and this before. I have tossed the Iams and have kept some to have tested. I do not want to be "compensated" for my loss, I want an apology and answers. Did Iams kill my sweet Meisha. Or did she really die in 5 days from a blocked gallbladder. Yes, Bubba is fine. Bubba could eat all of my knit socks and be fine. He eats everything and anything. I have no knit in days. I hope no one else has to go through what we did this past week. It is heartwretching enough to lose a pet, but this was just cruel!
Thanks for reading and your support.
Hugs back to all.
Ann

Meisha

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i3OZkS05s3U/RfxDhvtNHhI/AAAAAAAAABs/7CkoyN67JLM/s200/sam+007.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5042979929768926738" />
Today was awful! On Thursday, I took our girl, Meisha, to the vet. They thought she had liver disease because she had been vomiting for 5 days. Today, we took her to the ER vet for the weekend so she could get better for monday, when we could get an ultrasound or do surgery. She got worse. Much worse. She did not make it. She was only 8 and was so happy to see my husband and myself. She wagged her tail and I felt awful for picking her up from the vet, taking her to the ER not bringing her home. I will miss her. She was a sweet girl. I can not bring myself to tell the girls yet. They were so upset at me this morning when I told them I had to go take her to the ER and not home..............Bubba will miss her!

Sp 10 Questionaire

1. Much has happened good and okay. So on the knitting news-okay. The damn CPH is still not finished and probably won't be anytime soon. Bored with it. Started a pair of socks in the Bahamas could not remember how to do a short row heel........aaaggghhh. Daughter #2 has been accepted to Baylor! She is tickled. We are happy for her, but wish we had not paid off our mortgage 2 years ago, duh! Daughter #1 has got a job! Hopefully it will last. She looks good and calls me often. My fingers are crossed daily!
I recived my sassy swap package and it was awesome. I will have to post pics of things later on. My scarf swap kit was great as well. I joined the SP10 and got accepted. I can not wait. We went on vacation in Feb to the Bahamas -Atlantis and to Orlando. My girls 13 and 17 faught most of the time. No more family vacations. Atlantis was nice but too busy for my taste. I will not go back, and it was very very expensive! We had dinner when we got to Orlando at Disneys Grand Floridian. Victoria and Alberts. It was superb! Expensive but worth every penny. My hubby treated me to not 1 , but 3 Dooney and Bourkes for my birthday, which he forgot! my girls each got one in the bahamas but he bought me 2 more at the Outlets. :) spoiled rotten!
My sister and neice came up from Connecticut for my birthday 2/11. We had a great time she stayed for the weekend. It was nice to see her. I usually see her 2 or 3 times a year. She is the baby of the family and I am the oldest. We get along fabulously!
I will post my SP10 answers next week along with pics. Thanks for stopping by. Oh and as far as knittting- I am up for a Clapotis-better late than never. Or maybe a fake a gamo. Who knows.
Later :)

Fat

My girls are killing me! So, please, send me your support.............LOL.
Okay, knitting news. I am on the right front of the Central Park Hoodie. I am determined to finish it. I have been looking at Anemoi mittens and the new piecework magazine, which I purchased yesterday. I would love to make both of these. I am not too crazy about an afterthought thumb. She made me a beautiful sock type bag and included some blue and black cashsoft, needles a magnetic chart :) Dark chocolate (Mine, Mine Mine!) and a cute pattern. Thanks so much. Eve of http://eveknits.blogspot.com was the recipient of my Kit. I did not take a pic so hopefully she will post one and I can steal it! I had fun making hers and had to stop myself from going too far. I joined 3 other swaps and can't wait to send those out as well. It is fun to share knitting with others. I have no one here to talk to about my knitting-kinda sucks! Thanks to all you bloggers-you are my friends!
I have been knitting up a ton for Christmas and gave it all away. I have only a pic of my youngest wearing, yes wearing a sweater I made. She is too cute. SHe wore it to school and no one believed that I made it. She said she would find a mistake and prove it-ha none! She was bewildered! I can not upload a picture tonite. I will try again later!
I have been making red scarves 2 so far for the Red Scarf Project. Fun Fur hats for the Boston Childrens Hospital. I am sick of my Central Park Hoodie. My Knit Kit has arrived. I just bought myself a new jacket and my swap partner, Namaste sent me Branching Out and 2 yarn choices to make it with. As you can see, they both match my new coat! What luck.Thank you very much, Namaste. I finished my ballet slippers from Fiber trends, Just need to felt them. I am making a pair of mittens for a charity that I saw on Now Norma Knits, a fellow Vermont blogger. They are a blue varigated yarn.
I have plenty of Christmas knitting to do and nothing seems to be going the way I want it. The knucks I started for my husband out of Alpaka - too small. The sweater for my daugher, too big. I feel like goldilocks!

Now-to just figure out what to make for dinner? I am so excited. I am mailing it out this morning because my partner is going away for Thanksgiving and I want her to have something to do on the plane. The KPS tunic is history. It was too big. I decided to make felted ballet slippers out of Noro for me to see how big they are before I make any for daughter #3 for Christmas. Daughter #2's sweater will be a Central Park Hoodie for next Christmas when she will be away at school
:(.
I am so sick of raking leaves. You rake yours and the guy next door doesn;t so - you get all his leaves and his lawn looks great. Falling leaves suck! I also did some sewing (what is that-haven't done any in years) for my pals kit. It is a bag similar to one Jolene makes. It is just a little box bag, big enough to hold needles, yarn, pattern and stitch holders. I made it in her favorite colors. Have a great one!

Knit Mitt Kit Swap Questionaire

What is your favorite color?
Coral and Tourquoise.
